What is Fitness?
CrossFit begins with a belief in fitness. Fitness with a purpose. Fitness that is useful in all areas of our lives.
Fitness is our ability to do more work (reps, laps, lifts, trees planted) over both short periods of time as well as long ones, whenever and wherever life requires we do it (in the gym, pool, job or backyard.)
In addition to looking good naked, a fitness program needs to prepare us for any physical contingency — not only for the unknown, but for the unknowable.
What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is constantly varied functional movements performed at relatively high intensity.
Functional movements like the squat are essential to well being, life, and independence. They are mechanically safe, and when done at higher intensities elicit amazing results.
CrossFit a strength and conditioning program in constant pursuit of true fitness.
CrossFit is also the community that spontaneously arises when people do these workouts together. In fact, the communal aspect of CrossFit is a key component of why it’s so effective.
