I was a competitive athlete for many years as a gymnast and a mountain bike racer. But I lost most of my fitness after starting my career and having a child. When I joined BTB, I could barely hang from the bar for even a few seconds.

It looked SO fun! I was reluctant to try it because I felt so out of shape, but Sydnee Adams, (who was already a member), brought me to a free Saturday workout and I was hooked. I joined that day.
6. What is your biggest CrossFit accomplishment?
Strict pull ups I guess. Like I said, I could barely hang from the bar, and now I can do consecutive strict pull ups. What I’m happiest about though, is that I keep getting stronger and faster (in the past month, I hit prs for snatch, overhead squat, deadlifts and Annie, yay!!!)

As soon as I tried it, I loved it. CrossFit requires balance, coordination, strength, and endurance, and I like challenging myself in those areas. CrossFit is always different. Its always a little scary and its as close as I’ll get to doing gymnastics again.

Yea I was the typical LA Fitness girl running around the gym annoyed with waiting on machines and bored doing the same workouts all the time.
5. What made you try CrossFit?
When I moved to the midtown a couple years ago I always noticed the CrossFitters running in and out of the box when I went to Publix to shop. It looked so intimidating, but fun at the same time. Winning second place in the 2014 Nutrition Challenge

8. Do you get more excited over a Weightlifting PR or getting a better score on a WOD you’ve done multiple times?

From the limited knowledge I had, I definitely thought I was not strong enough for CrossFit. Soon I learned CrossFit is all about beating your best and improving overtime. That is what I love about the sport. It can work for anyone who is motivated to improve their physical fitness.
14. If you can convince one person in your life to do CrossFit with you, who would it be?
I would love for my friend Rhonda to try it with me. She has been on a physical fitness journey for a while. I feel CrossFit may provide the accountability and challenge that she needs to take it to the next level. For now she says it’s a no, but hopefully one day she will come with me.
15. What is your all time favorite food?
French Fries of any kind! Crinkle cut fries, waffle fries, curly fries, shoe string fries, steak fries, cajun fries…you name it they are delicious. Unfortunately the paleo diet only allows for baked homemade sweet potato fries :-/
16. What is something that nobody knows about you, and you would not mind sharing?
In 2010 I decided to make a lifestyle change by exercising and eating a healthy diet. May not seem like a lot, but I lost 30 pounds that year. I’ve stayed dedicated to this lifestyle and never looked back.
17. What is your most memorable moment at BTB?
The 2014 Holiday Century Party! This was one of the first times I hung out with other members outside of regular wods. Good fun!
18. Why BTB Fitness?
BTB has the most genuine coaching staff that cares about helping you get better. Not only that, they take the time to get to know you personally. When I walk into BTB I know I am going to have fun while being re-energized and challenged. In addition to the great coaching staff, my fellow BTB members are so awesome! I have made great friends since joining and it feels good to workout with people who are so encouraging. When I mentally give up and no longer want to push myself during a WOD, I know a coach or BTB member will push me. Prior to joining I dreaded working out…now I love every minute of it. Joining BTB was one of the best decisions I ever made. Love you BTB!
